Dr. Zhui Chen is the Founder and CEO of OTR Therapeutics. Prior to founding OTR, he co-founded Abbisko Therapeutics, where he served as Board Director and Co-Chief Scientific Officer, leading R&D, business development, and strategic initiatives that guided the company from inception to successful public listing. Earlier in his career, Dr. Chen held senior roles at Johnson & Johnson’s Shanghai Innovation Center, where he led oncology discovery and translational research. He also worked at Novartis Institute of Biomedical Research and Abbott Laboratories, driving discovery and translational efforts across oncology and other therapeutic areas. Dr. Chen holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Duke University, completed postdoctoral training at UT Southwestern, and earned his B.S. from the University of Texas at Austin following undergraduate studies at Peking University.
Dr. Shannon Chuai is the Co-Founder and COO of OTR Therapeutics. With over 20 years of experience spanning pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and investment, she brings deep expertise in scaling biotech operations, securing financing, and driving cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced growing environments. Previously, she managed healthcare investments at Legend Star and co-founded Burning Rock Biotech (NASDAQ: BNR), where she served as CTO and COO. At Burning Rock, she led the development of China’s first NGS-based oncology diagnostics platform, achieving the country’s first Class III IVD approval for an NGS panel and an FDA breakthrough designation for a multi-cancer early detection assay. Earlier in her career, Dr. Chuai held R&D roles at Novartis, University of Pennsylvania, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, focusing on data-driven drug discovery. Dr. Chuai holds a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from University of Pennsylvania, an M.S. in Statistics from Texas A&M University, and a B.S. in Biochemistry from NanKai University.
Dr. Yuan Shi is the Co-Founder and CSO of OTR Therapeutics. He brings broad experience across drug discovery, clinical portfolio management, scientific partnering and biotech entrepreneurship. Previously, he co-founded INF Technology, establishing an AI-driven drug discovery unit and leading external alliances. During his 11-year tenure at Eli Lilly, he served as COO of Clinical Portfolio Management, overseeing development strategies for small molecule and RNA-based therapies. He also served as Director of Discovery Chemistry, advancing multiple drug candidates into clinical stage across oncology, metabolism, and neurodegeneration. He also supported Lilly’s business development and forged regional partnerships. Dr. Shi earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Cornell-Rockefeller-MSKCC Tri-Institutional Program and B.S from University of Science and Technology of China.
